Behind the Scenes: The process of making this book.

Process of making the book

Take a look at some of the articles and books that I’ve read to write this book:

1. I studied a lot about wood, nature, biodiversity and more. Read many scientific articles and books. See the list for some of them...
2. Then I wrote a story. But before I found the right one, I filled many notebooks with potential stories.
3. I drew every page of the book by hand using pencil. It's very fun and relaxing!
3.hand drawn sketch
4. All of my sketches have a lot of notes, based on what I study and think is important to share (on both the front and back).
5. Then I draw again, this time with the final idea in mind.
6. After completing the final sketching work, I redraw, this time with permanent black pens. I use a light table to draw exactly like my final sketch.

7. Now it's time to use the computer to color the drawings that I photographed with a professional camera (you can also use a scanner, but I don't have one)
8. After coloring the pictures, it's time to assemble each page... this means I need to add different elements, like text, other small illustrations, or microscopic images, to make it all make sense.
9. Time to add text to the illustrations! The process doesn't end here! There's still formatting to do, combining all the pages, and some final formatting to do... but it's almost ready for review!
