At Storybranch® we create fun learning material about forest, trees, sustainability and biodiversity.
Dr Arbo is the main character of the first book.
The magic within a tree is Dr. Arbo’s first book.
We are creating a platform to connect us all, around topics of Biodiversity, Forestry and Wood Science.
We take pride in our original illustrations, all of which are protected by copyright. Our registered trademark reflects our commitment to quality and creativity.
Promote science from early age.
Raise awareness of our interconnection with nature.
What do we do?
We deliver complex topics through simple explanations.
Promote talent cultivation.
We hope that with the feeling of connection, change follows.
Why?
To promote behavioral change towards regenerative practices.
How?
We do this by creating beautiful, immersive & magical stories that connects knowledge to storytelling.
Workshops that connect people with nature through stories, science, and creative exploration.
Curriculum integration of indigenous knowledge.
Our Mission
At Storybranch®, we believe in the transformative power of knowledge and connection.
Our mission is to raise awareness about our relationship with forests and biodiversity, emphasizing that every action we take matters.
From the smallest seed to the tallest tree, everything is interconnected, and we are all guardians of our planet
Bridging the Knowledge Gap
Many children, especially in underserved regions, lack access to the knowledge about wood science and forestry.
We strive to make this knowledge accessible to all, particularly those living near rich, yet often underappreciated forests.
Our goal is to cultivate an awareness that transcends borders and encourages collaboration among communities worldwide.
Why Trees?
Trees are vital to our ecosystem. They offer shelter, sustain biodiversity, and even communicate with one another.
Understanding their anatomy and functions can ignite a passion for conservation in young hearts and minds.
We want to inspire children and adults alike to see trees as allies in our quest for environmental sustainability.
Empowering Change
Through exposure to diverse cultures and practices, we can all learn to appreciate and care for our environment.
We believe in the importance of vernacular knowledge and culture, and how they shape our behavior and understanding.
Our resources aim to make science fun, relevant, and accessible for everyone.
Investing in our youth nurtures their happiness and aspirations, while supporting sustainable industries that rely on the harmony between development and conservation.
Dr Arbo is a curious and enthusiastic arborist, a tree doctor.
There are many like her living inside the trees. They are the guardians of the forest, and help the trees stay healthy and happy.
She and her friends use an amazing underground fungal system, called the mycorrhizal network, to navigate the world and reach all forests, from boreal to tropical.
They communicate with each other, and with all the creatures living in and on the trees, the soil and under it.
They can also communicate with children and whoever still keeps the magic inside their hearts…
So pay attention next time you are in a forest, or near a tree…listen carefully, you might hear Dr Arbo.
Bring a magnifier, you might also see her and her friends!

Ivón Hassel is a researcher, building engineer, project leader, and science communicator, passionate about bridging knowledge and society. Originally from Argentina, her journey has taken her across diverse cultures and landscapes, discovering the magic of nature and the connections that unite us.
She earned her master’s and doctoral degrees at Kyoto University, Japan, at the Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere (RISH), and has worked at KTH and Uppsala University in Sweden. Her research spans sustainability, cultural heritage, and material development. She has developed building system rooted in ancestral knowledge, applying digital methods, digital image correlation, and finite element analysis. She also developed a mechanical testing device that allow cultural heritage materials to be characterized with minimal samples and without costly equipment, contributing to projects such as the conservation of the Vasa ship in Stockholm.
As founder of Storybranch, she combines science, storytelling, and pedagogy to inspire new ways of connecting with nature and embracing responsibility for a sustainable future. She also enjoys illustrating, writing, and designing science activities for children, inspired by her own.
We are currently seeking passionate individuals to join our mission.
As the founder, I invite writers, scientists, educators, game developers, and others to collaborate in creating meaningful change.
Together, we can build a diverse team dedicated to science, sustainability, education and innovation.
